Those who believe that every person has the power to heal his own self or another person through the use of energy can try performing the Reiki attunement.

Reiki is an art of healing. According to some books and formal writings, Reiki is a Tibetan or Buddhist way of healing. It was said that in the late 1800's. Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese educator and meditation master, had discovered by accident this concept of healing.

Reiki attunement uses the force of Universal Life Energy called Reiki, which is said to be the power behind the healing. It uses the natural energy in the body to remove all of the person’s physical, mental, and emotional concerns. With Reiki, it is possible to achieve total recovery from diseases, whether it is a disease in the mind, body or spirit.

The process of Reiki attunement only involves the hand the energy to flow through them. It does not use any physical tools or devices in order to initiate healing.

However, all of these can only be achieved when you have chosen the right Reiki master. Yes, Reiki is a very complex concept, that it can only be performed with a Reiki master. Definitely, this process can't be learned on your own, as there are many concepts to know and many techniques to practice.

Reiki is often referred to as remote healing or a magical healing process. This procedure can be best understood as “a ceremony of spirit” rather than a “spiritual ceremony”.

Reiki attunement comes in three degrees.

1. On the first degree, your energy will allow you to make energy flow out of your hands.

2. The second degree will teach you the Reiki symbols in order to empower the flow of this energy. Once learned, you will have the ability to send Reiki over time and space. You will also have the power to heal both mental and emotional problems.
3. The third degree is when you reach the Master Level. In this degree, you have control over many more Reiki symbols. More importantly, you can perform the sacred Reiki attunement ceremony on others at this level.

To have access to Reiki through simple meditation and intellectual exercises alone is not enough. You have to know how to let the Reiki energy in, and then allow it to pass through you. Without proper training, or failure to go through the attunement process, it is impossible to complete even the first level of Reiki.
